Narratives of Hegemony: A Critical Analysis of Dissidence in Sah's “Jayath” and Theeng's “Yambunera”

Nepal incorporates a long history of exploitation, mistreatment and marginalization indigenous communities, including the Tamangs Madhesis. Throughout its history, Hindu-based state has held power taken control over ethnic communities via mainstream culture, language idea homogenous national identity, which consistently rejects multiple cultural identities voices. In this regard, paper critically analyzes narratives hegemony, namely, structural domination as well resistance marginal community portrayed in Nepali stories “Jayath” ("A Wooden Pole") “Yambunera” ("The Outskirts Kathmandu") written by Shyam Sah Bina Theeng respectively. Both deal with issues hegemony dissenting voice marginalized characters that challenge power. The also argues despite being continuously suppressed, musters strength to raise their against blocs. To analyze systematic outcast peripheral resistance, I have employed Michel Foucault’s concept institutional Susan Seymour’s theoretical backing.
